Keep Your Head Up

Sometimes life just doesn’t go your way.

Sometimes, you really want to give up. It seems like everyone and everything is against you. It seems like luck is just not in your cards.

Perhaps this is true. Maybe the world is pinned against you, in some kind of rigged, sick game. Maybe luck is steering clear of you.

Yet, you keep on keeping on. Why is that?

In short, life is overwhelming. It’s a series of roller coasters, each one scarier and with more obstacles. You keep riding, you keep holding on, and you stay strapped in — not because it’s fun or even rewarding, but because you have to prove to yourself that you can do it.

Life is an absolute nightmare sometimes. Every time that you think you’ve escaped, somehow you stumbled into the next thriller. Like the protagonist in a horror film, you have to keep your head up — you need to make it through.

We all have a fantasy that serves as what our future should be. We keep our heads up to make it to that day.

Life can be tough. Life can be miserable. Yet, you don’t have to be. We all have obstacles, and some seem insurmountable. But if you hold on for one more second, you can come to see your reward.

If you didn’t get your promotion, then that one wasn’t meant to be. You’re worth more than any job and any salary. If you suffered a loss, it doesn’t mean you’ve lost yourself. In time, you will feel okay again.

All the “if’s” in the world might not cover what you’re going through, but know this: the strength to keep perservering has always been inside of you. You’ve got this.
